John Beggs
The World Championship Old-Time Piano Playing Contest is held every Memorial Day weekend at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS. The Regular Division Semi-Finals Contest was held May 25, 2025.
John has competed several times in the World Championship Old-Time Piano Playing Contest in the Junior Division. He was the 2024 Champion playing "Alabamy Bound" by Ray Henderson (1925).
2025 was the first year for him to compete in the Regular division. He performed five pieces and placed 2nd with "Liza" by George Gershwin (1929).
